🐹🥰There's nothing like having a class pet named after you! Dr. Mindy Higginson, former principal of Walt Disney, met "Mindy the Guinea Pig" yesterday and guess what? They both love pink!🩷Dr. Higginson also treated the students to story time about Waffles the Guinea Pig!

Oh no! This morning there was "vandalism" in Elm Road fourth grade classrooms 😮 - Thankfully, the students were on the case to identify the suspect! With the help from P-H-M's very own School Resource Officers, the students worked the "crime scenes" with a series of math work sheets that focused on place value to figure out who "destroyed" their rooms. The students got their suspect and the rooms were returned to normal, great job! #PHMExcellence

We'd like to thank Officer Howard from the South Bend Police Department for stopping by Walt Disney to tell first graders about what it's like to be a police officer! The kids had all sorts of questions as Officer Howard talked about his job and how he helps people in the community ☺️ #PHMExcellence

Penn High School students along with Exchange Students from Germany stopped by Discovery this morning to share information about the German language and culture with the middle school students! The session ended with German students showing a video they made of their schools and life in Germany and then doing a Q&A with the middle schoolers. This kind of international connection is an example of #PHMExcellence

At Discovery, Mrs. Jones’ Language Arts classes have a fun and creative way to practice vocabulary called SWAT the Word!

Students are split into two teams, and a representative from each is handed a fly swatter (don’t worry, it’s never been used on bugs 😉). Vocabulary words are taped to the board, and when Mrs. Jones reads a definition, the first student to swat the correct word earns a point for their team.

Today’s match between Team Sunshine and Team Moth came down to a tie-breaker word to determine the winner! It’s a great example of #PHMExcellence in action by making learning engaging and fun ☺️
