Principal Anglin’s August/September Newsletter
August/September, 2019
Dear Parents/Guardians:
I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the 2019-2020 school year. Our staff is looking forward to working with you and your children. We at Moran look forward to meeting and serving our new families as well as those returning for another year.
A new full time teacher to Moran is Michaella Schick, 4th grade. Mrs. Logan will be teaching first grade this year.
Riding the bus to and from school is extremely safe and helps reduce traffic congestion on Beech Road. If your children do not currently ride one of our buses please consider it. You’ll save money and children will be transported safely and efficiently.
Parents have received individual student ILEARN data but the D.O.E. has not released school wide data at this time. Once the data arrives our staff will immediately begin the process of building a plan of success for all our students. The staff at Moran Elementary School is dedicated to providing the best educational experience possible for your child. We are very fortunate to have such a dedicated and experienced staff working with your children. We know that working together, between home and school, we can be successful. At Moran we want every child to be successful. As the new school year approaches I hope you will have the opportunity to visit and volunteer in your school. Your participation at Moran sends the message that learning is important. We hope you will have the opportunity to send that message often. Again, the Moran Staff and I look forward to serving you and your children in the coming year. I hope that your summer break has been an enjoyable one. See you soon.
Sincerely,
Frank Anglin, Ed.S.

New WNIT Channel – helping prepare future kindergarten students
WNIT has introduced a new service which will help prepare your future students for kindergarten. A new 24/7 PBS Kids Channel offers a full time education alternative to kids’ channels which exist to sell “stuff” to children. This new channel is available from a home antenna at 34.3 and will be available on most cable systems. In addition to the television broadcast, the PBS Kids Channel on WNIT will also be fully live-streamed with related on-line games to enhance and extend the learning experience. Here are the links to two videos promoting the new channel: https://youtu.be/kkRYEj0dRJ0 andhttps://youtu.be/IGMQtt2eyoU.
